Rare pipevine swallowtail butterfly released in Iowa garden

A pipevine swallowtail was released in the Indian Creek Nature Center butterfly garden on a Tuesday afternoon. The species had not been seen in Iowa since 1914. Staff found caterpillars in the garden, raised one in an aquarium, then released it after confirming its identity.
