Linn Farm Bureau Members Vote on Dues Increase
Linn county Farm Bureau members will vote at the October annual meeting on raising dues from 10 to 15 dollars. President Emil Novak of Fairfax said the board favors the increase. He noted fourteen county bureaus raised dues last year and more may follow. He added higher dues have not significantly cut membership in counties with the change and stressed that members decide the program scope.

Iowa Grain Stocks on July 1 Reach Low Not Seen Since 1937
Iowa's July 1 1948 grain stocks are at their lowest since 1937, the Iowa crop and livestock reporting service said. Corn carryover is 83,711,000 bushels or 46 percent of the 1947 level, with about 93 percent in farm storage. Oats total 25,157,000 bushels, down from 44,144,000 last year, with 23,479,000 in farm storage and 1,678,000 in other positions.

Weekend Tama 4-H Camp Planned at Conant's Park
TOLEDO The Tama county 4-H boys camp will be held Saturday and Sunday at Conant's park near Gladbrook. Youth Assistant Roger Conklin will lead the event. Creamery Picnic Set for Aug. 19 at North English
North English hosts the annual Creamery Association picnic on August 19. The English Valleys Co operative Creamery, founded by local business people in 1928, opened the plant in 1931 and produced 300000 pounds of butter in its first year. By 1936 all debts were cleared, with three additions since. Last year the plant produced 2250000 pounds of butter and paid members 1500000 dollars in butterfat payments.

4 H Practice Judging Opens at Ames Saturday
