Bird flu undetected among livestock workers studied
A new study suggests farmworkers may have higher bird flu exposure than official counts reflect. Researchers found antibodies in two of 14 Texas dairy farmworkers, a roughly 15 percent rate from two affected farms among over 170 outbreaks in 13 states. The work underscores poor surveillance, limited testing, and fears of employer retaliation that keep infections hidden.
