Local employees earn top Alliant grants for volunteering efforts

Cedar Rapids and Marion volunteers Brenda Thomas and Yvette Clapp received $400 donations from the Alliant Energy Foundation through the Empowering Our Communities program after logging 1440 and 219 hours respectively for DAR and Camp Fire USA Iowana Council. The program rewards hours at 50 to 200 plus per year, with 290 employees contributing over 50,000 hours and about $60,000 in total donations last year.
