Cedar Rapids Sokol marks 100 years with events and history
Cedar Rapids Sokol celebrates a century of gymnastic and social activity with a spring show at Prairie High, an October 21 banquet featuring a 40 member Czech chorus, and a commemorative medallion. President Joseph Pazour notes records from 1873 reveal discipline and community-building through picnics dances and academics. The group emphasizes physical mental and ethical fitness and national spirit as it reflects on past triumphs including 1909 and 1910 national victories.
