Miss Indian America 1957 Named From Navajo Applicant

Dolores Jean Shorty a 19 year old Navajo from Brigham City Utah won Miss Indian America 1957 at All-American Indian Days in Sheridan Wyoming. She competed against 105 candidates from 21 states and Canada and will attend the Miss America contest in Atlantic City as an observer. Rubee Dee Larson of Butte Montana finished second and Jamie Belle Brown from Wewoka Oklahoma finished third.

Martin and Senator Hickenlooper, they toured the Capitol, sat in Nixon's chair, and inspected Webster's desk. The program, run by the American Legion auxiliary, trains youths through leadership, character, and civic knowledge.
