Not Guilty Plea Filed in Iowa City Landlord Killing Case
A 20 year old Justin A Marshall pleaded not guilty in Johnson County District Court to first degree murder in the 2009 slaying of Cordova Illinois property manager John Versyot at 1958 Broadway Street Iowa City. A pretrial conference is set for January 6 with trial slated for January 17. The case arose after a witness heard a popping noise and Marshall allegedly knocked and whispered to gain entry. Clothing linked to him tested positive for gunshot residue.
