Simple school program lowers kids cholesterol quickly
In North Carolina 422 third and fourth graders with obesity or high cholesterol gained through a two month program. The study split classes into nutrition plus 20 minute gym sessions three times weekly, nurse led instruction, and routine PE. The nutrition plus activity group saw about a 12 point cholesterol drop, nurse instructed 10 points, and control just 2 points.
