Fortieth Year for the Luckasons

Oldster Fulfills Life Long Wish at Camp Pendleton

Tran Thi Nam, 109, fled North Vietnam in 1954 to escape Communist rule and again fled last April during South Vietnam’s fall. She reached Camp Pendleton via the refugee pipeline and died of a heart attack at the refugee center. A Roman Catholic funeral is set for Friday at Eternal Hills in Oceanside.
