Fire damages Soboda home on Park Avenue SE in Sunday blaze
Fire destroyed the roof and attic of E. M. Soboda Jr.s house at 2020 Park Avenue SE Sunday forenoon. Sparks from the chimney and burning debris from prior burning of paper and rubbish started the blaze in extreme drought. Damage to the house and contents is estimated above 2509 by owner J. M. Welch. Fire crews also tackled a Smoldering attic fire at 1635 A Avenue NE and a grass fire near Bowling Street and Hawthorne Drive SW later Sunday.
