Art Collins and Iowa aviation pioneers shine in flight history
A century of Iowa aviation is traced from Art Collins early radio work and Cedar Rapids base to Collins Radio’s wartime growth and space program contributions. The piece links 1910s flights, Byrd Antarctic radios, Pearl Harbor era upheaval, and Apollo era fame with Iowans like Cunningham Shriver and Whitson.
