Injun V Satellite Set for Launch From California Range
University of Iowa built Injun V satellite will launch from the western test range near Lompoc California next Thursday under a NASA contract. The 157 pound hexagonal cylinder carries five booms and a balloon payload to study radiation and atmospheric density. Data will transfer via ground stations to Iowa City for analysis as solar activity peaks in 1969.

Maquoketa River Fish Eradication To Begin Monday
Promiscuous fishing between Forestville and Quaker Mill bridge to end Monday as chemical eradication runs Monday through Wednesday. Conservation officer James Becker says fishing will be banned after the start. Water levels near Quaker Mill dam and Manchester dam will be lowered before treatment. After eradication, the river and impoundments will stock adult and sub adult catfish bass and pan fish with yearling bass expected within a year. Two Sentenced in Independence Court

Bridge Contract Awarded to Manchester Company
MANCHESTER The V and 8 Construction Co of Manchester won the bid for a new Maquoketa river bridge below the Quaker Mill at 84 537.49 dollars. Traffic will use the old bridge during construction with grading by C J Moyna and Sons at 11 439 for approaches. Completion is set for June 14 next year, bridge 225 feet long and 28 feet wide 300 feet downstream from the present structure.

Paving To Begin On Clayton Road
Weather permitting paving will begin on the Clayton Garnaville county road Monday. Fred Carlson a Decorah paving contractor will start at the Clayton town limits and work west to Garnaville. Clayton will be isolated during paving until the new surface cures.
