Defense Of America Lies In Temper Of Her People
Iowa City AP President Virgil M. Hancher told the University of Iowa convocation that national defense hinges as much on the temper of the people as on steel. He linked defense to education and urged that universities must make principles work. The summer term awarded 518 degrees, with advanced degrees for most students. Hancher has presided over all three convocation ceremonies.
