Historic Althea Sherman tower nurtures chimney swifts again
In Cedar County, the 1915 Althea Sherman tower near Buchanan hosts four chimney swift chicks this nesting season. The tower, built by ornithologist Althea Sherman in Clayton County, was restored by the Cedar County Historical Society and Johnson County Songbird Project after years of neglect.
