Fry says Ringer has left Hawks
Iowa football coach Hayden Fry said running back Kevin Ringer has returned to Dayton, Ohio and is not expected to attend fall classes. Ringer, a former Ellsworth JC All-American, ranked third on the depth chart behind Rick Bayless and Kevin Harmon after spring drills. He rushed 149 yards on 26 carries last season with a 93 yard game versus Texas El Paso and one touchdown. Fry indicated Ringer had not been officially notified, and appears to have given up on summer school to work in Dayton. Pryor’s status remains uncertain as he seeks eligibility after dropping out last spring.
