New farm group forms AGGA with aims of reporting system and farmer contracts
A Davenport meeting launched the American Grain Growers Association described as a trial balloon to create a producer controlled group. Members would sign non binding agreements and donate 50 dollars to back a plan to contract farming and limit grain plantings with a potential 80 to 90 percent reduction in crop acreage. Supporters praised a data driven system and foreign planning input while signaling penalties or lawsuits for violations. A second meeting may be held if enough signatories agree to the plan.
