Big Settlement For Mendenhall
Oakland AP reports Terry Mendenhall won a 91500 settlement in a suit against the Oakland Raiders, a general manager, and a team physician over amphetamine use. The Alameda County jury found Dr Graham Reedy liable for supplying amphetamines that led to a knee injury in a 1972 game against the Chargers. The panel also ruled the Raiders organization liable for concealing the injury and breaching contract after trading him to the Cardinals in 1974. The Cardinals’ team doctors later said the knee was permanently damaged and he could not play again. The Madden involvement was not proven.
