Mr and Mrs Milo A Chehak and their children Sheryl Kathryn and John returned Monday after a two and a half weeks vacation in the west They traveled by train visiting Salt Lake City Portland West Coast cities and attended the San Francisco fair
Kathleen Lord of Lake Forest Illinois visits Cedar Rapids as guests attend a string of luncheon parties in her honor. Hostesses Miss Jeanne Marshall and Miss Barbara Marshall entertain with Dows family members and others at the Marshall home and Cedar Rapids Country Club. Lord plans to return home Wednesday.
Prof and Mrs Paul S Ray and daughter Susan depart Thursday for a month long visit. They will stay with Mrs Ray's parents Mr and Mrs A W Lawin in Edinburgh Indiana and with Prof Ray's father P M Ray in Chattanooga Tennessee.
Mr and Mrs A L Voggen thaler and daughters Anne and Nancy returned from Plainview Nebraska where they were guests in the home of Mrs Voggen thalers parents Mr and Mrs F C Hol bert Also traveling with them were Mrs Voggen thalers sister Mrs W J Houston and her son Donald of Plainview
Miss Dorothy Carr daughter of Mr and Mrs W H Carr 1722 Seventh Avenue SE has returned after six weeks in New York where she visited her brother Warren H Carr and Mrs Carr of Jackson Heights L I and friends in New Jersey On return she stayed with Mr and Mrs Glenn Beneke in Mishawaka Ind Mrs Beneke formerly Miss Dorothea Dolson In Evanston she visited sorority sisters.
Mr. Brannaman, brother-in-law of Mrs. Miller, visits Mrs. Miller at 1905 B avenue NE. Brannaman, from Denver and former Cedar Rapids resident, chairs Colorado’s industrial commission and stays for a few days.

Sunday night honors at Camp Hitaga near Troy Mills Cedar Rapids acknowledged week long achievements. Recipients covered handcraft dramatics music health campcraft and boating tests with names including Susanne Combs Marigene Finch Rosanne Klass Pat Jackson and Marilyn Tague. A water carnival highlighted Sunday afternoon activities.
Mr and Mrs Howard Cherry of 305 Nassau Street SE host a picnic supper tonight for the Saturday evening bridge club. Guests include Mr and Mrs Will Higley of Babson Park Florida visiting the city and staying at the Commonwealth apartments.
Charter members of a seven year old supper club entertained Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Ellis at J. J. Gregorys home 2307 Meadowbrook Drive SE. They recently returned from a year in the south and southwest including Florida and Texas. Guests played croquet and bridge before refreshments. The Ellises will stay with their son W. D. Mr and Mrs J Ronald Anderson and daughter Barbara relocate to Minneapolis after Mr Anderson is transferred by Penick and Ford. He had been stationed there three weeks and traveled from Cedar Rapids to Cedar Rapids over the weekend. They stay with Mr and Mrs J H Anderson at 1836 Twentieth Street NW. A note concludes that seventy percent of motion pictures shown in the world s 89 097 theaters are American made.
Delta Theta Chi held a Sunday state picnic in Marshalltown with Sigma Beta Alpha Kappa and Iota chapters. Discussions covered the Midwest conclave planned for October 14–15 in St Joseph Missouri. Pauline Duer vice president read a council letter. Cedar Rapids reps Mae Taylor Anne Severn Ruth Michaelson and Charlotte Wing attended along with national field secretary Louise Beebe and Norma Billings Wichita Kansas.

Miss Irene Mohme of Cedar Rapids travels from Cedar Rapids to Chicago to join Christine Bjornsen Dorothy Svee and Irene Broeckman for a vacation and world’s fair trip to Niagara Falls Washington and New York.
Mercy hospital auxiliary sponsors a benefit social on the hospital lawn Wednesday at 6 p.m. Games will be played during the evening. Mrs. T. E. Marshall chairs the auxiliary board and Mrs. F. J. Monahan serves as ticket chairman.
Mr and Mrs Perry Roberts of Cedar Rapids attended the Martin Alder reunion with daughter Kathryn at Island park in Cedar Falls. The next reunion is set for July 28 1940 at the home of Mr and Mrs Otto Martin in Aurora.
The Ex Quakerettes gather Wednesday at noon at the Ellis Park duck pond for a picnic dinner. A morning swimming party is planned for those who wish to go earlier. Members should bring the usual picnic requirements.
Eighty two attended the annual birthday picnic for C A Weichman at Ellis Park Sunday. The event at 1407 First Avenue West drew guests from Cedar Rapids Clinton Shellsburg Newhall Atkins Marion Victor and Chicago. Officers elected: Harry Weichman president Charles Gardeman vice president Eddice Weichman secretary and treasurer.

The annual Squiers Newman reunion of Missouri and Iowa was held in Bloomfield city park Sunday. Attendees came from Cedar Rapids Toddville Lafayette Center Point Marion IA and Atlanta Macon and Ten Mile MO. A M Squires of Macon MO was elected president and Miss Jean Beeson of Cedar Rapids secretary.
Active members of Delta Gamma sorority hosted a Monday luncheon at Cedar Rapids Country Club. Twenty seven covers were set with daisies and blue delphinium while guests from Cedar Rapids and nearby towns attended.
Miss Anna Steiner goes back to her home in Dubuque Tuesday after several weeks as guest of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Barnes at 1919 Ridgeway drive SE.

Miss Margaret Ann Foster daughter of Dr and Mrs Wayne J Foster received the rank of boatswain's mate at Camp Lake Hubert near Brainerd Minnesota. This five week program grants her assistant instructor status on the sailing staff and adds to six previous summers at the lake. Only four others have held bosun rank since the camp began ten years ago. She is expected home this week.
Mrs Wesley Perry of Minneapolis arrived Monday evening to be a guest of Mr and Mrs Howard Hall of Brucemore. Also visiting are Mrs Perry’s sister Mrs Paul McWilliams and Dr McWilliams of Hollywood. They plan to motor to Minneapolis Wednesday morning.
Ehawee Camp Fire girls met at Miss Martha Stolba's home and worked on a playhouse while painting birthday honors. They elected Patricia Splichal president Ruth Ann Washburn vice president Jeanne Jiricek secretary Betty Orton treasurer and Jean Gatrelle scribe. Guests included Corrine Jones and Donaldine Englet.
Mrs Tom W Moore of Evanston Illinois will arrive Tuesday evening to spend a week as the guest of her parents Mr and Mrs C M Westerfield at 1840 Bever Avenue SE. Mr Moore will arrive for the weekend.

Pineville Missouri residents who acted as extras in the film Jesse James last year are now drawing unemployment compensation as unemployed actors. The Ozark town hosted most scenes and many locals worked a few days as extras.
