Fleacon model show lifts off at Eastern Iowa Airport
The Alexander Lip pisch chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society hosts its seventh annual Fleacon show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at PS Air Hangar in Cedar Rapids. About 400 models from Iowa and neighboring states will be on display in a 45 000 square foot hangar with free admission. Judges will award medals to top models as club president Charlie Kucera notes past traffic issues and emphasizes clear signage and reach for attendees.

Fleacon the Power of 10 model show at Eastern Iowa Airport
The event runs 9 am to 5 pm Saturday at PS Air hangar 3411 Beech Way SW Cedar Rapids with free admission and $10 entry for up to four models. Awards at 5 pm. Families can buy a make and take kit for $3. Models include a steam shovel and a quarter scale TS-11 Iskra jet.

Murder trial delayed to fall in Osborn case
Eric Osborn's murder trial for the death of his live-in girlfriend Sarah McKay was rescheduled to November 1 after a pretrial conference. Osborn admitted striking McKay with a baseball bat and strangling her on March 7 and waived his right to a speedy trial.
