Northwest Airlines and the Railway Express Agency announce a coordinated air and rail freight service starting June 1 at about 50 percent lower rates. The plan covers shipments of 100 pounds or more at 30.7 cents per ton mile and aims to speed deliveries to thousands of northern tier cities.
