Uber launches UberX in Iowa City as fifth Iowa community
Uber announces the launch of UberX in Iowa City the same day the city’s transportation network ordinance took effect making the ride service the fifth Iowa community to permit Uber. Sagar Shah of Uber Iowa says the app offers rides at the touch of a button and a new income opportunity for drivers. Uber had already started service in Cedar Rapids Des Moines Ames and the Quad Cities in 2014 and 2015.
