Iowa City Hosts Weekend Cycling Events Across City
Iowa City and its surroundings host a pair of cycling events this weekend. The Iowa City Road Race starts at 9 a.m. six miles south near Hills with an $18 entry. The 22nd Old Capitol Criterium runs Sunday in downtown Iowa City with multiple races including the Lance Armstrong Junior Olympic Race, starting at 10 a.m. Registration opens 8:30 a.m. and closes 30 minutes before each race.

Curtis VanDerWal of Oskaloosa dominated the 16 car Budweiser Sportsman field at Hawkeye Downs, winning the McLeod USA 75.
