Lawmakers Diplomatically Debating Fire Levy Bill
In Des Moines a senate county government committee led by Sen. James Briles discussed a fire protection levy bill. Sen. Richard Ramsey gained permission to amend, Briles opposed, and Briles left with the bill in his pocket after a 3 to 5 vote to arise. The note compares to a former senator’s walkout.
