Spier aged 44 of Cedar Falls entered an innocent plea. Both were arrested Saturday night for erratic driving on Mt Vernon Road SE and Highway 30 near Cedar Rapids.
In district court two estates were opened. The Kassler will for Carl J. Kassler who died April 11 designates Esther as sole heir and executrix. The Hoover estate of Elsie V. Hoover who died April 8 names five heirs Clyde Hoover Herbert Hoover Warren Hoover Mary Neilsen and Mil dred Jordan as executors.
George O Jamesson 79 of 1520 Eighth Ave SE Cedar Rapids died Monday after a long career with the Allen Motor Co and Silver Motor Co. Born September 29 1878 in Centerville Virginia he is survived by his wife Rose a son Richard and five daughters. Services Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church with burial at Mt Calvary. Rosary is 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Monahan funeral home.
A Linn county jury acquitted Henry F. Severeid, 22, of perjury after a 45 minute deliberation. He testified in the robbery trial of Terry D. Melsha, who was convicted and sentenced to 10 years. A Davenport woman charged with perjury in the same case pled guilty and drew parole from a 10 year term.
James T. Riley, 43, with no address, has until Friday to plead to a 17 month old false check charge. He allegedly passed a $50 check on November 17, 1956, at a Marion service station after a recent arrest in Bethany, Missouri. Riley waived extradition to Linn county.
Plaintiffs' evidence before a Cedar Rapids jury in a 25000 personal injury suit. Clinton H. O Rourke seeks damages against ICarol and Raymond Steinbronn after a car pedestrian collision last June before the courthouse. Jurors include Gates Klopp Neff Hollister Elliott Gilbert Ralston Gorman Newell Knudson.
Cedar Rapids Clean-Up Paint Up Fix Up committee launches a petition drive for city wide regular trash pickup. Dr. Edwin Settle and Carl Smith present cost estimates totaling about 146 000 for first year with 6 trucks, salaries and operations. Petitions will be circulated to city council for approval.
Robert J. Anderson sues in Linn County District Court on behalf of his minor daughter Raejean for injuries after she was struck Nov. 9 by a car. Defendants are owner Jo Ellen Kessler and driver B. M. Christensen. The collision occurred as Raejean crossed G avenue NW near Vernal Street en route home to 118 G.
Senator Mundt predicts Vice President Nixon will be the Republican presidential nominee in 1960, drawing loud applause at the U S Chamber of Commerce convention in Washington. The forecast reflects early Republican support and party-wide optimism for Nixon's candidacy.
Samuel Zavodny age 71 of 1980 Fiftieth Street NE Cedar Rapids died Monday after a several weeks illness. Born June 20 1886 in Czechoslovakia he came to the United States in 1906 and lived in Cedar Rapids since 1916 except for periods in Chicago. He worked for Quaker Oats and returned to Chicago in 1920 before moving back to Cedar Rapids three years ago to live with a daughter. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Chicago and Tatran Slovak Jednota Lodge No 6. He married Anna Zavodny in Chicago April 27 1919 who died January 20 1950. Surviving are son William of Chicago and three daughters Ann Brega Lilyan Goyeau and Mildred Adamson. The body was taken from Murdoch Funeral Home Marion to Mee Rarame Funeral Home Chicago for Thursday services.
William C. Womochil 83 a retired farmer of Fairfax route 1 died Monday after a lingering illness. Born June 16 1874 in Washington county he lived near Fairfax since 1899. Survived by three daughters two sons two sisters and a brother. Wife Frances Stepanek Womochil died 1956. Services at Kuba funeral home 9 am Thursday St. Ludmila church 9 30 with Msgr. Francis R. Hruby. Burial Hala cemetery. Rosary 7 30 p m Wednesday at the funeral home with呼 friends may call Wednesday.
Mrs. Joseph Skripsky, aged 75, of Cedar Rapids Route 2, died Tuesday following a brief illness. Mary Clouhy Skripsky, born in Iowa, is mentioned in connection with the family obituary.

Harris Lamb reports the death of Mrs Leta Armstrong Dille of Tulsa Oklahoma aged about earlier life in Cedar Rapids. She was wife of Dr Dille geology teacher at Coe and mother of Glenn Jr in Houston Texas Alan in Salt Lake City and Barbara in Tulsa. Services and burial occurred in Tulsa after a heart ailment.
Hildegard Freeman 83 of 1220 Fourth avenue SE widow of Charles Freeman died Tuesday after a brief illness. Born December 31 1874 in Shellsburg she lived in Cedar Rapids 50 years and belonged to St John Episcopal church. Only nieces and nephews survive. Body at Monahan funeral home after 4 Wednesday. Funeral arrangements to be announced.
James M. DeHook of 729% First Ave W died Sunday. Services will be held at 1 Wednesday in the Moslem temple conducted by Rev Hossien Karoup. Burial will follow in Moslem cemetery. The body rests at Turner chapel then Moslem temple where friends may call. A daughter Mrs N K Abdo ney of Cedar Rapids survives along with others previously listed.
Michael W. Curry of 625 Fourth Avenue SE died Sunday. Funeral at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St Wenceslaus Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr Anthony W. Chihak presiding. Burial in St Peter's Cemetery Cosgrove. Parish Rosary at 7 30 p.m. Tuesday at Brady Mortuary, where friends may call.
Mrs Laura Adams McCord 75 of Boise Idaho died Tuesday. She was a cousin of Mrs Charles Penningroth and Mrs E J Lattner and formerly taught at Cornell College and in Portland Oregon. Services and burial will be in Boise Thursday.
William Edward Gunsaulis died Sunday. Services set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Turner Chapel conducted by Rev. James M. Webb of First Baptist Church. Burial will be Cedar Memorial. Friends may call at the chapel.

James H. Long of 1402 Fifteenth street SE died Monday. Services in Brush chapel at 2 Wednesday conducted by the Rev. Ralph Colton. Burial at Linwood. Friends may call at the chapel.
Word comes from Tulsa Oklahoma of the death of Earl Wasson a 1923 Coe College graduate. He died after a brain tumor illness. His wife survives him.
A United Fund information meeting is scheduled in Manchester at the Farm Bureau building on May 6 at 8 p.m. Kenneth Everhart, field consultant for the United Fund of Iowa, Inc., will speak. The Delaware County extension community and public problems committee sponsors the event.
A sparrow caused a 4 engine airliner to be taken out of service for six hours in Manchester. The bird entered a small engine tube and disabled the wing de icing system, delaying the flight Monday night.
Cedar Rapids city council authorized payments totaling 675 to owners of three properties condemned for highway right of way on Fiftieth Street. Payments reflect added width beyond state plan, with amounts 250 275 and 150 to named owners. Also approved 175.92 to Sheriff and 12.70 to City Attorney for expenses. Tax suspensions for four hardship cases were approved and will be collected when property changes hands.
Louisville detectives used their sense of smell to nab two youths accused of breaking into a shack and stealing $400 worth of smoked meat. They confessed and named two more suspects. a third youth was arrested while a fourth remains at large with the loot.

Twenty eight Iowa City Girl Scouts depart June 17 for a six week Europe tour. A thief prowling a Richmond grocery at night carried a neighborhood map and a store floor plan but failed to account for a passer-by who noticed him and alerted police. The quick call led to the thief's capture.
CAPE CANAVERAL AP The navy announced a Vanguard launch schedule for the coming months with satellites as the prime target. The latest Vanguard rocket launched successfully but failed to ignite the third stage, sinking a 20 inch instrument sphere studying solar X rays, with no recoverable debris.
Special to The Gazette. Mrs Floyd Aegerter 36 of near West Branch died after a one car crash five miles southwest of Tipton around 10 p m Monday. Her husband lost control on a gravel curve hitting a ditch pile. Lawrence 12, a son, broke a leg and both Mr and Mrs Aegerter were hospitalized with injuries. Two daughters were treated and taken to relatives home. Body at Sheets and Dahn funeral home. Born December 8 1921 in Tipton. Farmed three miles northeast of West Branch with husband and family.
French authorities said Algerian rebels attacked a Muslim village killing 12 people including 3 women and 4 children in Oran region. The incident raises concerns over escalating violence in Algeria as authorities respond.
