U of Iowa professor to buy World College West in California

Y King Liu, 58, a University of Iowa biomedical engineering professor, plans to buy World College West in Marin County California for about 7 million dollars after a price drop from 10 million. Closing is targeted for mid May. The college closed last August amid debt and homelessness was briefly housed there. Liu envisions liberal arts and science offerings with Eastern flavored health courses. He has taught at Iowa for 15 years and earned a PhD from Wayne State University, with a salary this year of 87 200.
