Alcohol tax hike may fund treatment in area
The Legislature proposes a 2.5 cent per six pack beer increase and a 2 percent rise on wine and liquor to fund substance abuse programs. ASAC in Linn, Jones, Jackson and Benton counties would gain a modest boost, though demand for services remains high and budgets face cuts.
