William Rainbow notes loss of student gate receipts at athletic events may be considered in fee plans and a portion could return to the self-supporting athletic program. Administrators will report on two proposed taxes public recreation and enrich ment. they favor these over a one year supplemental school income surtax, which Marion Independent voters will decide next month. The surtax, created by the Iowa Legislature, could raise about 1.07 million dollars in Cedar Rapids district by a maximum $3.82 per $100 of personal state income tax, but its one year duration and burden on wage earners are seen as drawbacks.
