Colossal galactic collision reshapes view of early cosmos
Astronomers detect the birth of a galaxy cluster through a protocluster called SPT 2349 56 located 12.4 billion light years away and formed about 1.4 billion years after the Big Bang. The 14 galaxies packed in a small region challenge current theories, suggesting rapid early cluster formation and immense mass including dark matter and gas.

Human print found inside ground sloth track at White Sands
Scientists report a megatrack at White Sands National Monument contains a human footprint within a ground sloth paw print. The find suggests early humans followed megafauna, possibly watching a sloth turn to face a hunter as others approached, dating to at least 11 000 years ago.
