Des Moines Man Shot Dead After Family Cultural Day
Stephen Kim, 41, a Burmese immigrant and father of three, was killed in a University Avenue parking lot while picking up his wife from her two jobs. Police say the fatal shooting appeared to be an attempted robbery and Islamic authorities have not named suspects. The couple’s children attended Holy Family Catholic School where Kim and his wife took part in a culture day event.
