Davenport Floods Prompt Federal Action Talks
Iowa lawmakers urged prompt city support for a flood control project as Davenport faced a second crest on the Mississippi River. The crest rose to 22.3 feet, well over flood stage, with continuing high levels expected into May. Officials warned levee integrity remains at risk and navigation is disrupted from Muscatine to Minneapolis.
