Innocent Plea in Traffic Case By Tama Youth
Dwight D. Douglas, 16, of Marengo pled innocent to failure to keep his motor vehicle under control after a crash near State and 14th streets at 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Mayor Jim Sorensen set a May 5 hearing for 10:30 a.m. In Tama police reports the youth allegedly sped in a pickup, hit David M. Tesar’s parked car, which hit Lester C. Posusta’s car. no injuries. Douglas had earlier pleaded guilty in Toledo for speeding 70 in a 25 zone, with a $45 fine and $5 costs.

Paul Gerlick 67 longtime Ossian resident and former mayor died Sunday night in Decorah hospital. He served as mayor from 1964 to 1967, later becoming Iowa liquor store manager.
