Medal of Honor Awarded to Missing in Action Private
Pvt. Floyd K. Lindstrom of Colorado Springs Colorado received the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously though missing in action since February. He earned the honor for a November 11 1943 assault near Mignano Italy where he charged a hill under heavy fire killed two machine gunners captured their guns and helped repel a German counterattack. The medal was presented to his mother at Camp Carson Colorado by Maj. Gen. Terry Allen. Lindstrom was born in Holdrege Nebraska in 1912.
