Linn County attorney fires longtime aide over OWI charge

Linn County Attorney Jerry Vander Sanden fired Jeff Clark, a 26 year veteran, after Clark was charged with operating while intoxicated in Jones County. Clark crashed on Highway 1 near Martelle December 7 and later pleaded guilty to failing to maintain control. Blood test showed a 0.237 BAC. Trial set for June 24 in Jones County District Court.

Rastetter to lead regents again for second term

Bruce Rastetter was unanimously elected to a second term as president of the Iowa Board of Regents. Katie Mulholland was chosen to continue as president pro tem. Their terms run through April 30 with new two year terms starting May 1.
