Nagle pushes Avenue of the Saints highway plan
Rep. Dave Nagle urged a House subcommittee to fund the Avenue of the Saints as a national highway project. The proposal would authorize 359 million to upgrade existing routes from St. Louis to St. Paul and fund 100 million annually as a demonstration, built atop current interstates and highways to save costs. Nagle noted Illinois opposition and governance risks, while supporters said it could bypass other Iowa road projects and accelerate development through Iowa.
