Humphrey says all Americans deserve equal life chances
In Oxford Mississippi Vice President Humphrey urged that the nation’s unfinished business is guaranteeing every American an equal chance in life. He cited poverty, unemployment and discrimination as Mississippi delta issues and urged nationwide investment in schools, training, housing, nutrition and health care. He noted rural urban migration shrinking regional divides and highlighted unity as wartime bonds.
