Dr T Z Koo director of oriental studies at the State University of Iowa told 450 Linn county farm women at Hawkeye Downs that The question of bombing Manchuria must be resolved soon and if MacArthur is wrong the right answer should be found. He warned that a fall of Formosa to Communists would breach the UN defense line in the Pacific and argued that only action could prevent stalemate and continued war in Korea. He said the Communist plan aims for world domination and a third world war, while UN hopes seek peace through harmony of differences. Local Farm Bureau women’s leaders were honored and scholarships funded for rural teaching education.

The final session of five feed merchandising training meetings finished in McKinley school. Sponsored by the Feed Institute of Iowa with Cedar Rapids public schools and the state department of vocational education, the Cedar Rapids series included instructors Hugh Kelley Ames Bob Schubert Cedar Rapids Hugh Gordon Marion Bill Schaffenacker Muscatine and Marvin Narramore. Participants received the institute feed manual and a certificate of recognition. The Cedar Rapids group was one of thirteen similar schools statewide, Narramore said.

Vinton registered Holstein cow owned by Matt Birker completed a 348 day herd improvement registry production test.
