Linn supervisors approve budget for fiscal 2026

Linn County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a 166.2 million fiscal 2026 budget spanning July 1 2025 to June 30 2026 with a lower countywide levy rate of 6.06 and rural rate 2.60 while projecting increased residential and agricultural taxes due to higher residential rollback. The plan funds $169.7 million revenue and includes raises for employees plus 603 922 in new staff offers and routes local option sales tax supports road and conservation projects as well as rural tax relief.

Tractor Supply to relocate Cedar Rapids store this winter

Tractor Supply Co will move its Cedar Rapids operation to a new site at 4415 Williams Blvd SW near Menards and Unity Point Clinic Family Medicine Westdale, replacing the 6622 Sixth St SW location. A soft opening is planned in early December with grand opening in early 2026 and about 15 new jobs.
