Cedar Rapids crews cut 15 ash trees to curb emerald ash borer
City forestry workers cut 15 ash trees on Boyson Road NE and nearby neighborhoods as part of Cedar Rapids plan to slow emerald ash borer spread. The crew will grind stumps, while taller healthy ash remain and 21 mixed species trees will be planted Saturday. City arborist Todd Fagan stressed leaving larger trees to aid younger growth.
