Alliant Dredging Clears Wapsi Bar Blocks at Anamosa Dam
Alliant Energy dredged the Wapsipinicon River near Anamosa after record floods left rock and gravel bars blocking the dam and spillway. Bluff Ridge Contracting removed about 7000 yards of material, lowering water and revealing the concrete apron. Officials expect improved fish habitat and safer fishing as rock is dumped for erosion control and river channel aeration.
