Cancer education in Cedar Rapids lowers female deaths
Cancer education among women in Cedar Rapids appears to reduce female cancer deaths. In 1948 Cedar Rapids recorded 147 cancer deaths with 88 men and 59 women, the first year women died less than men in recent times, says Dr. F. W. Mulson. The Linn County chapter of the American Cancer Society plans a countywide drive through April 30 with an $18,500 goal to fund further education, research, and nationwide programs.
