Abuse show draws 300 callers on KCRG-TV
The program Stolen Childhoods prompted more than 300 calls to a central information line seeking brochures on intervention and treatment. Three reports of suspected child abuse were filed Friday morning at the Iowa DSS after the show.

Iowa April cheese and butter aid expands for needy East Iowans
Despite threats of cuts, Iowa will distribute about 1 million pounds of processed American cheese and several thousand pounds of butter this month through HACAP and DSS. The plan uses Illinois and Wisconsin processors to convert cheddar into 5 pound loaves, with Lopez Evans praised for support. Linn County expects 61,200 pounds of cheese and 16,800 pounds of butter, while Cedar Rapids and surrounding counties will share more than 100,000 pounds of cheese and 39,000 pounds of butter in the April distribution with eligibility based on net household income and deductions. Missing Marion youth found after hospital visit
A 13 year old Marion youth returned to St Luke's Hospital at about 3 p.m. Friday after disappearing Thursday night. Police and state patrol aided the search, which focused on south Marion. The youth, under medical care, was not in danger during the disappearance and will undergo further treatment or testing next Tuesday at the University of Iowa Hospitals.
