Supervisors plan a Friday tour of the McKesson Drug Co. building at 900 Second St. SE to test feasibility for remodeling into a jail. The site could offer about 100000 square feet, with other options including two floors of Harper & McIntire and several future sites. A nine member technical committee and a 21 to 25 member citizens panel will study options and standards, while Cedar Rapids officials discuss shared facilities and costs.
