Protests Over Stop And Go Signals On First Ave Thirteenth St
Ed Lowe of the traffic safety commission wrote to W C Benesh protesting the use of automatic stop and go signals at First Avenue and Thirteenth Street SE. He argued the Fifteenth Street business district creates a traffic problem and that signals push traffic in bursts toward Fifteenth Street, whereas without lights traffic would spread out. The signals were removed on the commission’s recommendation for that reason.
