North Liberty rapist sentenced to 50 more years in prison
In Iowa City a 27 year old, Asante Walker Garcia Adams, received 50 years on top of 100 already served for related attacks in Black Hawk County after pleading guilty to second degree sexual abuse and burglary. The judge ordered the 50 year sentence to run consecutively to the burglary count while the robbery term ran concurrently. The victim’s family spoke of lasting trauma and financial strain as they sought mental health support. A separate Linn County trial for another 2023 assault is set for June.
