Donald L. Christensen 54 of Mason City underwent 16 hours of surgery after being stabbed in the face chest arms and legs. He was listed in critical but stable condition at St Marys Hospital Rochester Minnesota. Police seek a witness from the North Star Bar area who saw the incident and is not required to identify themselves. Christensen managed Christensen's Public Transit Inc. in Mason City.

Problem solvers seek solutions at Coe contest
The Iowa Future Problem Solving State Bowl gathers teams from across the state at Coe College for a two day event sponsored by the Iowa Federation of Women's Clubs Future Problem Solving Program area education agencies and Coe College. Top teams from each division win trophies and may advance to the International Conference in Madison Wisconsin.
