Gasohol Sales Hit 30 Percent in Iowa Markets
DES MOINES AP Gasohol now accounts for about 30 percent of unleaded fuel sales in Iowa Roger Elzheim marketing director of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board said stations sold nearly 156 million gallons of gasohol in 1980 a 10.5 percent share of total fuels. He noted gasohol is sold at about 1700 stations statewide and forecast 180 million gallons sold in 1981.

Cedar County approves 5.31 million budget for new fiscal year
The Cedar County Board of Supervisors approved a 5.306 million dollar budget for the year starting July 1, up from 4.851 million. Tax asks rise to 2.403 million from 2.127 million. Delays were caused by the death of County Auditor Richard Kemmann. Cold snap grips northeast with record low readings
The morning brought freezing weather across the northeast and New England teens. Readings in the 20s spread from the upper Mississippi Valley to the central Appalachians with Old Forge New York the cold spot at 2 percent inches of snow and a high number of observed records. Several other cities posted new lows including Atlantic City Beckley Cincinnati Erie Traverse City Sault Ste. Marie and Flint tying a 1953 record at 25 degrees. Dense fog covered parts of Oklahoma and Texas while mild Gulf Coast conditions persisted elsewhere.

A study by Sagraves finds the fully implemented Reagan plan would raise Iowa personal income by 805 million from 1982 to 1985 and state revenue by 402 million over four years. Even with scaled down cuts, Iowa benefits versus current projections, with employment rising to about 1.343 million nonfarm workers by 1985 and unemployment around 5.7 percent. An alternative scenario using historical trends shows 473 million more in state revenue by 1985. Egypt and China sign military accord in Peking.
