Winners advance to the national contest with a first prize trip to Hawaii.

A crowd of thousands greeted 130 Marines from D Battery 2nd Battalion 14th Marines as they landed at Waterloo Municipal Airport ending 40 months away including time in the Persian Gulf. Families cheered as the group, led by Lance Cpl Dan Johnson and Lance Cpl Mark Nelson, reunited on Iowa soil after long separations.
An unidentified bowler with Alzheimer's participated in the WIBC National Tournament in Cedar Rapids starting April 4. Her teammates aided her by guiding timing and lanes while she bowled with a 140 average, delivering solid throws and enjoying the moment as observers praised her courage.
Police hunt for a lone white man 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall with auburn hair who robbed Hills Bank and Trust Co at 1401 S Gilbert St around 1 30 p m. He wore a red plaid shirt jeans and a jean jacket. No one injured. FBI agents assisting. Bank cameras videotaped the robbery. The bank will reopen today for business.
