Senators Escape Gunfire as Helicopter Lands in Honduras

A U S Army UH-1 carrying Senators J. Bennett Johnston and Lawton Chiles was hit by gunfire near the El Salvador border but suffered no injuries. A second helicopter carrying Diana Negroponte was also fired on yet unharmed. The event occurred during a fact finding mission to a refugee camp in southwestern Honduras near Morazan.
