Conservation Board OKs pact to buy 60 acres near Matsell Bridge
The Linn County Conservation Board approved an agreement with the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation to purchase about 60 acres around Matsell Bridge Natural Area. The land will be added to the Matsell Bridge area, four miles north of Viola and four miles west of Stone City, with the Foundation selling on contract to the county over five years. Final approval rests with the Linn County supervisors.

Two Linn County Drunk Driving Arrests Reported
Two drivers were charged with drunken driving after arrests in Linn County. Thomas H. Duffy, 45, of rural Marion, was taken into custody at 7 16 p.m. near Blairs Ferry Road and Knollcrest Court. Larry A. Roman, 37, of 517 41st Street Northeast, was arrested at 10 16 p.m. on Interstate 380 at Coldstream Avenue exit.
