White House Won't Fight QEO Dismantling Ruling
Washington AP report cites The Washington Post that the Nixon administration will not oppose a judge's order halting the dismantling of the Office of Economic Opportunity. Sources note potential wider impact on other Nixon policies if the ruling stands. An OFO director spokesman would not confirm or deny the report. The decision followed a court ruling April 1 by Judge William Jones. The White House contends Congress may not fund QEO beyond June 30 or pass a resolution to sustain CFO funding at current levels.
